WEBPROGRAMMERING OCH INTERAKTIVITET Curse
JApplet demonstrating sinus function graph 'Sinus2.class')
Applet demonstrating graph of SINUS function. You can set the period value. x-axe interval is (0;2xPI). Applet uses JSwing,JButton,JPanel and JText components.
DHTML Lab - TV program ('tv.html')
DHTML lab is usefull for move some functionability processed on the client side. We used JavaScript language with DOM model documentation support on Microsoft MSDL web pages. Use of JavaScript language is way how to easy create no delay responses on the client side and way how to make server side more free. On the other way we often find some browsers don't support JS (it is estimated that more than 10 percent of users don't have or don't use JavaScript) so it is not way how to build widely useable web pages. The way how to build compatible pages is use scripting language on the server side - like in lab 4 (PHP, Perl, C or on MS platform ASP, ASP.NET). Using JavaScript is more usefull when building intranet sites where you can controll browsers used by users.
XML Lab - Hamlet Play ('hamlet.xml' using 'hamlet3.xsl' and 'style.css')
XML used together with XSL and DTD is strong tool how to build effective data handling and data-exchange. Because of open definitoin of data structure DTD, simple description of structure of data contents in XML and dynamic data presentation template in XSL it is good way to connect data structure controll, data processing and data presentation using standardised XML way. XML,XSL support from IE 5.0+ only is poor side of this technology. But it is possible to use PHP or ASP to parse XML documnets and send data in user friendly layout in HTML code. Then there is no dissability for building XML into web application.

SMIL Lab
SMIL is language for describing events in multimedial presentation. It is also written that SMIL format will be implemented into main browsers and this time it wil be realy interesting. The need of special version of RealPlayer is dissability for presentations made with SMIL language now. In present main competitor is FLASH format, which is widely accepted by all main browsers or pluggins are available. Main advantage of SMIL I see that we can separate seqence logic from data sources and logical contens can be created and assembled automaticaly as a file with XML structure. (for doing sequence of actual news). Streamability with RealServer is another strong feature of this technology.
JSP/PHP Lab
We choosed PHP language as a scripting language, because we thought that final application is more usable because of poor support of free JSP providers - we found no free hosting for JSP pages. Not least the PHP documentation is far better than JSP documentation presented by SUN. Implementation contains some more features than in requirements. The menu structure is built dynamicaly, up to depth 2. Depth is limited only because no recursion was used for generating menu in PHP. The speed of this way was higher. The tree structure of menu is created with a few tables in MySQL (nodes, edges, bindings, items) and is generated each time when page dispalying is required. It is not fast method for building menu code and here is a place for improvement. Table design with CSS is used and instead of it it could be better to make no table CSS layout. Anonymous user can see only public links. Authorised user see this public links and all own private items including private branches in tree structure. Program is situated on the czech free PHP/MySQL hosting pages so accesibility is not guaranted all the time in this case.
PicoFarm - main project
Picofarm is project in Java which demonstrates using of Java, javaCard and networking capability. It is not online application.
My part of this task was make GUI for JXTA and RMI network pooling for active farms and show the result in graphical enviroment. Download PeerTest.zip and unzip it to picofarm directory. Run it by 'ant run.PeerTest'. you have to set peer name (any string) and login name and password first.

- welcome letter from hosting university with exact date of arrival and departure
- confirmation of home university with same dates as above (Grant confirmation is sufficient)
- bank account balance and Erasmus grant confirmation letter (in 2003 total 6300SEK required)
- 2 photos
- passport last page copy
